In a strategic collaboration between the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), Ministry of Education (MoE), and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), a pioneering initiative known as the Teaching Specialists Programme has been unveiled. This transformative programme is set to revolutionise the education sector by providing Emirati talent with essential training, bridging programmes, and professional accreditation opportunities within the private sector.

The overarching goal of this ambitious four-year endeavor is to hire 1,000 Emiratis annually in the education sector, commencing in 2024. The Teaching Specialists Programme is designed to equip UAE nationals with the crucial knowledge and skills needed for both administrative and teaching roles. Comprising four phases, the programme spans various disciplines such as Arabic language, Islamic studies, social studies, national identity, kindergarten, primary school, special education, educational guidance, and leadership positions.

Tailored specifically for Emirati jobseekers registered on the Nafis platform, the programme accommodates individuals with a bachelor’s degree in education, creating opportunities in teaching and school-related professions. Moreover, those with a high school degree can explore administrative and assistant roles within the programme.

Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, emphasised the significance of empowering UAE nationals within the education sector. Al Mazrouei stated that the mission is dedicated to providing necessary skills and qualifications, transforming participants into accomplished, skilled, and dynamic educators prepared to guide and inspire the next generation.

Ayesha Belharfia, Under-Secretary of Emiratisation Affairs at MoHRE, highlighted the crucial role of education in shaping future generations. MoHRE is committed to facilitating job opportunities for Emirati citizens in this vital sector, aiming to enhance their contributions to nurturing future generations.

Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla, Under-Secretary for Higher Education Academic Affairs at MoE, said the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with strategic partners for initiatives promoting Emiratisation in the education sector. He expressed confidence that the Teaching Specialists Programme would be a turning point for citizens interested in the private education sector, providing them with the training and expertise necessary to meet job market demands.

To ensure the highest standards, Nafis inked five MoUs with prominent educational institutions, including the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates University, University of Sharjah, Sharjah Education Academy, and Emirates College for Advanced Education. These partnerships aim to enhance cooperation, implementing programmes for administrative and teaching professions, offering tailored training programmes, and supporting Emirati jobseekers on their educational journey.
